CAT Tracks for January 23, 2011
WITCH!

You simply do not know...

...the superhuman effort it took for me to use a "W" in the title to this post.

In fact, I shall not dignify Michelle Rhee's "Letter to the Editor" of the New York Times by posting it below. If you want to read what she has to offer in advance of the President Obama's State of the Union Address, follow the link...

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

By way of explanation...

The reason I began cutting and pasting articles instead of simply providing the link is that said links have a nasty habit of "dying". Since old editions of CAT Tracks are stored in the archives rather than simply discarded, well, it seemed advisable.

However...

Michelle Rhee's latest attack on public schools and public school teachers?

Should never have posted it in the first place...since her recommendations defy/ignore scientific research. Her self-serving remarks are simply a Palinesque attempt to seize the spotlight to promote her "Me First" education reform movement.

The link above takes you to Michelle's "StudentsFirst" website where you can view her "Wall of Fame" appearance on Oprah (who is the unofficial President of the Michelle Rhee Fan Club.) There's also a link where you can read of her partnership with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. (Yes...Michelle attended his State of Union too.)

Should the link go dead...

...I shall consider it a sign of divine intervention!

BTW:

The good news...

In my first reading of the "op-ed", my eyes skipped over the author of the piece. As I was reading the litany of praise for President Obama's successful assault on public schools and public school teachers, I was appalled that the New York Times editorial board would pile it...higher and deeper. It was only when I went to cut and past the article in preparation of my rant that I finally saw the true source.

Michelle Rhee?

More lies, more self-promotion???

I shall consider the source and move on!

From the New York Times...
