PUTTING IT BLUNTLY

Today's MUST READ rant and rave is by Lily Eskelsen, Vice President of the National Education Association...as she expresses her sincere hope for An International Diane Ravitch Moment.

I have had occasion to see and hear Lily Eskelsen "perform live"...back in the day when I attended the NEA Representative Assembly held every year around the 4th of July.

My choice of the word "perform" is NOT to suggest that there is any lack of sincerity in the words she uses in the article below. There is nothing fake about Lily or her beliefs...she speaks from the heart.

No, the "perform" reference is because Lily is popular and "famous" for her solo singing and guitar playing at those aforementioned summer gatherings of the NEA. She has written various songs skewering No Child Left Behind and performed them to the delight of the assembled delegates.

Please, take the time to read the article below. (Yes, it's long...something I can certainly relate to!) By reading, you will see first hand that Lily has outperformed any and all who have tried to describe their personal frustration with the current "education reform" movement.

If you have never had the pleasure of hearing/reading Lily Eskelsen before, you are in for a treat...

Nope...

No reproductions today...consider it my day late and dollar short protest against the U.S. Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA).
