REGULAR FOP MEETING...MINUTES |
Minutes, my aching butt.
Meeting called to order at a couple of "minutes" past 11 a.m.
Within a couple of "minutes", they were in closed session and I was out in the hall. (Since Madam CAT President had to go to work - lucky CAT - I came prepared with a book to read...and made a good dent.)
At 12:50 p.m. - almost 105 "MINUTES" - the FOP resumed open session.
BTW: Five BOE members took turns playing musical chairs "inside" during the FOP's closed session (trying to avoid the provision that four BOE members would constitute a quorum and a meeting...forbidden by the Open Meetings Act without proper notice.) Seemed to me, it would have been easier to have just called a joint meeting...but, what do I know? Anyway, at any one time, three of Danny Brown, Arnold Burris, Brenda Gooden, Artie McBride, or Rodney Moore would be in and the other two out.
When the FOP resumed their open session, they approved everything the BOE had done last night...including the big chunk of change for Robbins and Tueth, lawyers in love (with CSD #1's money!)
They then did some other routine stuff in rapid succession...
...the aroma of food beckoning from the hallway.
For sure, there will be a Special Joint BOE-FOP Meeting (concerning the Superintendent search) sometime...probably March 5th at 11 a.m. Then again, I heard 5:30 p.m....then noon. They also talked about canceling their regularly scheduled March 19th meeting...then not.
For really, really sure, I will post the agenda(s) as I receive them!
Stay tuned...
Oh, almost forgot...
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to adjourn at 1:12 p.m.
POSTSCRIPT:
Attending this meeting was the furthest thing from my mind last night and when I awakened this morning.
However, sunshine was wafting brilliantly into the CAT cave...calling my name!
I figured "What the heck...drop by the normally brisk FOP meeting and then wander the highways and byways on a beautiful pre-Spring day.
Talk about a rude awakening!
Sunny and bright when I went in...cloudy and depressing when I exited.
Don't know if the statement above better describes the quick change in the weather or the change in my mood...
