SOCIAL CONSERVATISM...IT'S THE PITTS

If you are socially conservative and thin-skinned, it's time for you to bid adieu to CAT Tracks for today.

However...

Y'all come back, ya hear!

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

I joked a few days ago in one of my "Between Two Rivers" posts that my socially conservative views on race relations underwent a radical change between say 1965 and 1975. My wife used to chastise my "Catholic" prudish ways concerning sex.

All this to say that I can understand social conservatism...been there, done that.

Big difference between me and Rick Santorum and his minions...

...mine were personal beliefs that I never tried to impose on others.

Moving right along...

I hereby proclaim today "Dump on Rick Santorum Day"...the morning after the Arizona and Michigan primaries, where his shoot-from-the-lip, beliefs-to-the-right-of-Attila-the-Hun rhetoric probably cost him his shot at stopping the Romney Republican Presidential Nominee Bandwagon.

And with that brief intro, I'll turn you over to Leonard Pitts Jr.

Below are the links to two of his columns that I read circa 4 a.m.

Started this old liberal's day off with a chuckle...

...a chuckle that will last as long a Saint Rick and his pointy-headed ilk keep losing.

Fortunately, Rick (Sanatorium?) is too socially conservative for, well, "normal" social conservatives.

If the radical right-wingers start making a comeback, then it'll be time to quit laughing...

...and be very, very afraid!
