CAT Tracks for February 5, 2012
SUPER SHOWDOWN |
While y'all been watchin' the Giants and the Patriots battle it out, I've been looking ahead...
...to Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights!
The Super Search!!!
Who will be the next Superintendent of Cairo School District Number One?
Will it be Candidate Number One, Candidate Number Two, or Candidate Number Three???
Since we got ripped off last time, my first thought was of Three-Card Monte...the playing card version of the old shell game where the house always wins through sleight of hand.
The Cairo BOE is certainly playing it close to the vest...choosing not to involve the community or CAT in the interview process (like they did on previous occasions.) Oh, they had their three "community meetings" in which the community voiced its displeasure of the BOE's last choice. After that...SILENCE! From rumors, we believe there were six candidates interviewed on January 28th...to narrow it down. Each of the next three nights, the BOE is allegedly holding meetings to conduct the second round of interviews...of "the final three."
Upon further reflection...
...since one candidate will be chosen and offered a contract, my thoughts turned in a different direction:
Hey...
...still got three choices, still a got a "Monty" (or his successor.)
As I was saying...
Some candidates/contestants have already bit the dust.
I told you previously that I did not go to the January 28th all-day interview (other than my afternoon drive-by when I spotted the New York license plate.) I did not lie.
However, some bootleg pics have hit the Internet...purporting to show contestants that did not make the cut.
Below is one pair:
They certainly took rejection well...
However, the third candidate seemed less happy:
Happy or irrate...losers all!
But...
Beginning tomorrow afternoon, the first "final candidate" is supposed to be "in District" (taking the tour?), followed by a 6 p.m. Special BOE meeting for purpose of an interview...a process to be repeated on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Again, the community and CAT are persona non grata...all meetings are closed session.
However, where there is a will, there is a way.
That New York license plate...
...checked that sucker out!
Turns out that the vehicle in question did NOT belong to one of the candidates/contestants. Instead, the vehicle was registered to the producers of "Let's Make A Deal". So, on behalf of CAT, I contacted them and with a bit of persuasion (Good-bye CATmobile...SIGH!)...
...the BOE has a surprise a-waiting them as they face their choice of Door Number 1, Door Number 2, or Door Number 3.
A member of our family will be monitoring the process:
Think long and hard, BOE...
...don't repeat your past mistakes!
More than catty commentary awaits...
