CAT Tracks for March 13, 2012
iCAT |
Monday, Monday...
...was a slow news day.
This is often the case as local news outlets apparently cut back on personnel and coverage on the weekend. Likewise, my "education outlets" take the weekend off and do not release new material until late Monday morning (which I normally save for Tuesday.)
However...
Yesterday afternoon, I came across two stories that almost caused me to release "late-breaking" bulletins from CNN...the CAT News Network.
Immediately below is the first story...
...followed by my always catty commentary (and a link to the second, totally unrelated story.)
From the buzzfeed.com website...
The First Ever iPad Game You Play Against Your Cat
Friskies created an iPad game to play against your cat. Finally, a new way for your cat to humiliate you.

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
DISCLAIMER
In order to prove that life is stranger than fiction (even outside of Cairo School District Number One)...
...that the iPad story is REAL and not some figment of my fertile, feline-focused imagination, I shall not reproduce the story here but instead simply provide you with the Link to the Original Story.
Well, maybe one pic of the reigning "You vs Cat" champion:
FURTHER DISCLAIMER:
To you "dog people"...
Have already received a tongue-in-cheek threat...
...actually, considering the species, probably more like tongue hanging out of the side of the mouth, dripping indelicately, accompanied by unseemly loud panting sounds...
...an e-mail threat to file a discrimination suit against Friskies for daring to design and market a game that caters to cats (a game that clearly implies and plays to the intellectual superiority of felines.)
Memo to dog people:
Save your money!
Rather than wasting your money on legal fees (like Cairo School District Number One)...
Sit! Stay!! Be patient...and, puhleze, don't beg!!!
After forwarding the aforementioned complaint/threat to Apple, I received an e-mail response that their developers were already working with Purina on a significant upgrade to its just-released 3rd generation iPad...a "fetching" super-lightweight Frisbee-shaped model made of rugged, shock-resistant material that comes with an optional dog-mouth friendly case in an eye-catching bone-white color. As an added bonus, the "all fours" generation iPad will be completely water/slobber proof...suitable for play at the beach! (Realizing that all dogs aren't as intellectually challenged as their subservient behavior would imply, Friskies has even agreed to allow its "You vs Cat" game to be downloaded free with proof of purchase.)
So, bears repeating:
Save your money...
...and apply it to the $499 starting sticker price.
Final DISCLAIMER
Ignore that last "DISCLAIMER"...the "Purina-Apple" endeavor was a Pure D figment of my catty imagination.
The second story that caught my eye yesterday afternoon had nothing to do with education, nothing to do with anything really.
It's just another example of...
"You can run, but you cannot hide."
From the msnbc website...

Okay, it four in the morning...
...time to hit those alleyways for some REAL news!
