Cairo bridge to reopen next week

CAIRO, Ill. -- The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the reopening of the bridge carrying U.S. 60 and 62 over the Mississippi River south of Cairo in Alexander County. It will be open to all legally configured vehicles, with a maximum gross weight of 40 tons and maximum axle weight of 10 tons, beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
