Take note that this meeting is a "Road Trip", being held on the campus of SIU...Room 122, Pulliam Hall, Carbondale, IL.

Personally, I think it's a tad tacky to hold these meetings anywhere other than Cairo since any and all decisions made affect the residents and taxpayers of CAIRO School District Number One...NOT Carbondale, NOT SIU-C.

To my way of thinking, holding meetings in faraway places defeats the intent of the IL Open Meetings Act.

However...

It is apparently legal and since no "public" other than I or Madam CAT President ever attends these meetings, I suppose "C'est la vie" applies.

Also, in this particular instance, the agenda is a carbon copy of the Special Meeting being held by the Cairo Board of Education tonight...will be a rubber stamp of whatever decisions are made tonight IN Cairo.

Still...

...tacky.
