CAT Tracks for May 29, 2012
SPECIAL BOE MEETING...MINUTES |
The Cairo Board of Education held a Special Meeting on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. Below is a brief recap...
CAT Tracks Editor's Note: Due to an ailing air conditioner, I spent the BOE time awaiting my repairperson. (Please don't take offense...it's called "priorities"!)
However...
Madam President covered this old CAT's butt and took notes so that you still have the "minutes" of what transpired. Thank You, De De!
(Psst: Just between us lowly CATs...that worked out pretty well. Wonder what excuse I can come up with next time!!!)
The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. with all BOE members in attendance.
There were no comments from employees and/or public.
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to approve the agenda.
The BOE voted to enter closed session at 6:01 p.m. The BOE voted to exit closed session at 7:20 p.m.
A motion was made, seconded, and passed (unanimously) to employ Andrea Evers as CEO/Superintendent of Cairo School District Number One for the 2012-2013 School Year...pending agreement on a contract and a criminal background check.
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to hire Diane Thomas and Lorraine Johnson for the Summer School T.A.P. Positions.
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to approve the addition of Girls Volleyball to the Cairo Jr/Sr High School Sports Program.
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to adjourn at 7:23 p.m.
POSTSCRIPT:
A sincere and friendly CAT Tracks "Welcome Aboard" to Andrea Evers. We wish you all the best and look forward to working WITH you for the children of Cairo!
