Springfield -- Representative Mike Bost erupts in fury on the House floor Tuesday afternoon, after lawmakers call for a vote on a new pension reform proposal.
The measure was just introduced to a pension committee Tuesday morning, by House Speaker Mike Madigan. It passed on a six to three vote and moved to the House floor for discussion within a couple of hours.
The bill is hundreds of pages long, and Bost says lawmakers should not be voting on a proposal without first reading it.
FOOTNOTE:
Mike Bost is a Republican...representing the Carbondale area.
Personally...
I would like to see some outrage from Democrats.
But, then again, it was a Democratic proposal...to slash teacher pensions!
Time will tell...
Whether Mike Bost is a friend of teachers and will oppose the cuts...
...or if Mike Bost was putting on an anti-Democratic show for the cameras.
