JAY MATHEWS ON MICHELLE RHEE

A long while back, I 'lost' Jay Mathews...

I mean, Jay had already lost me philosophically...I seldom agreed with his education reform drum-beating, favoring my personal choir leader, Valerie Strauss.

But...

The Washington Post changed their web format...removing the dedicated links to Jay, Valerie, and other education bloggers. Since I needed my regular fix of Valerie, I did a work-around so that I could easily check our her daily offerings, often passing them on to fellow choir members.

Jay Mathews?

Uh, well, let's just say that 'forgot' to do the same...

...until 2013 dawned.

Have to admit, however, I still actually forget to check Jay's link like I do Valerie's.

But, today, I did the deed...

...and found that Michelle Rhee is in trouble!

Jay is hanging in there, as a major booster of the wicked witch...

...but he's wavering.

It's like Walter Cronkite...

President Lyndon Baines Johnson (during the Vietnam era) knew that he had 'lost the war' for hearts and minds when respected CBS news anchor Walter Cronkite took a negative stand on the failing United States effort. One of Johnson's advisers reportedly walked into the Oval Office after Walter's nightly newscast and told the President: "We just lost the Vietnam War...Cronkite came out against us."

...you're losing your #1 fan!

From the Washington Post...
