Oops...
...my bad!
The 'box' of chocolates that Forrest Gump's momma was speaking of was surely a rectangular prism, not the silver bullet focus of the article below.
Fluff article, the moral of the story being:
As real teachers toughed it out, continued the daily battle to engage apathetic students, these two dudes made their sweet escape...

The New Flavor of Math Instruction
Then, again...
...another nugget from the article, maybe the chewy center:
As I think cattily, maybe it is all about the packaging...
...Nigel Nisbet, inspired by his failings as a teacher, packaged a lesson that looked large but contained little math!
It's the extension of the insulting adage:
"Those who can't teach, (try to) teach teachers."
Meyer and Nisbet...
Modern-day snake oil salesmen, masquerading as education gurus...
...two more well-paid, failed teachers insulting real teachers by "performing" at PD conferences, workshops, SIP days, and/or wherever.
Interestingly, Meyer and Nisbet also both eventually left the classroom...
Forced to think critically, the kids eventually joined forces to investigate the shape, and discovered that manufacturers used it to get a package that looked large but contained little chocolate.
