Speaking of TV, movies, and police...

Gotta wonder why when there are shots fired, the police hunker down behind their cars and call SWAT. Could it be that simply having a gun doesn't mean that one is trained in the proper procedures for taking down an armed suspect?

Then there are those tragic incidents when the police blow away some person for brandishing a toy gun, reaching for a cell phone, or whatever. Do we really want the media writing those stories about teachers instead of the police?
