An adage tells the tale:
No offense to my high school colleagues, who valiantly fight the losing battle that they are presented...
...dwindling education dollars would best be poured into Pre-K through Grade 3. Nip the achievement gap in the bud, don't pour scarce resources into trying to convince teenagers that they need to learn to read, 'rite, and do 'rithmetic.
