CAT Tracks for April 25, 2013
SPECIAL BOE MEETING

The Cairo Board of Education held its "reorganization" meeting last night.

The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. with all members present except Arnold Burris.

True to the election results - the re-election of the four incumbents - last night's meeting proved to be a rubber stamp of the status quo:

    President: Artie McBride
    Vice President: Gabriel Harris
    Secretary: Brenda Gooden
    Treasurer: Mary Coleman

The regular monthly meeting will continue to be on the 3rd Thursday at 6 p.m.

True to the agenda, no other business was conducted.

Postscript:

In anticipation of said "action", I stayed in the cat cave last night.

Thanks to De De (Madam CAT President) for giving up her time to cover the meeting. Blessedly, it was short, less than 30 minutes.

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

Original post follows:

Yes, Virginia, there is a school board meeting tonight...

It was mentioned at last week's regular meeting - for the purpose of reorganizing the BOE following the recent election - but I have yet to see an agenda to see if anything else is up for discussion/action. (The District sent the agenda, but it is still making its journey to CAT Tracks.)

While waiting, I visited the District website under the tab for Board Meeting Info, but an agenda for tonight was not posted.

BTW: The District is posting agendas and minutes of the various meetings. It is up-to-date through March 25th. You should check it out, especially now that CAT Tracks has cut back on coverage.
