STOP THE MADNESS II |
Florida is such fertile ground for the absurd...
...after all, it was Florida that "elected" George W. Bush.
From eSchool News...
Schoolgirl tries science experiment, arrested for felony
DISCLAIMER:
Gotta say, this story sounds a little fishy...
...and is presented in a very biased manner in favor of the offending student.
Although the principal allegedly said that the student "was notorious -- for being a very nice person", it begs the question as to who reported the incident then? (During my 15 minutes of fame as union spokesperson, I quickly learned that reporters "have the power". You can do a five-minute interview and read/watch the news and wonder "Who said that?"
Also...
Why didn't the student conduct her experiment at home, why did she wait until she was on school property surrounded by her friends before finding out "What would happen if I mixed a little bit of this and a little bit of that?"
Another adage...
Where there is smoke there is fire.
Gotta say, though, expulsion and arrest for a felony seems a bit over-the-top.
Then again...
...it is Florida.
But, but...
Isn't Florida that state that allows you to be armed to the teeth and encourages vigilantes to roam the streets...
But, then, wants to arrest a little girl for a broken bottle and a puff of smoke?
Ahhh...
Florida!
