WELL EXCUUUUUUSE ME...

...all to hell!

Talk about beauty being in the eye of the beholder...

The headline to the article below:

Where's the bad news in that?

I taught in the 1970s...

...young and fresh, teaching batteries fully charged!

We did a damn good job, turning out graduates who went on to do impressive and wonderful things!

To hear that today's students are faring no worse is one hell of an accomplishment!!!

Despite 40 years of assaults on public education and/or the environment within which it battles:

  • The continuing disintegration of the family

  • The growing rate of poverty affecting school-aged children

  • No Child Left Behind

  • Race to the Top

  • All the while draining money and resources from public education through vouchers and charter schools to re-segregate the education system in the U.S. so that the rich don't have to send their kids to school with the riff raff, not matter what their color or ethic origin...

  • ...at the same time lining the pockets of business with money that cannot be had domestically since they sent all the factories out of the country to maximize their profit margins, at the expense of a declining middle class.

And United States educators are holding their own?

Even making gains in the lower grades???

Bears damn repeating:

Where's the bad news in that?
