Obama Proposes $1B for Science, Math Teachers

The national economy (torched by the George W. Bush Administration) still lies in ruins. The Obama Administration rightfully drawing fire for the current state of the union...wrongly blamed by Republicans for creating it.

States - budgets busted as a result of the national recession - are cutting health benefits to the elderly and the disabled, while trying to find ways to renege on pensions promised to state workers.

So...

What is the Obama Administration planning to do to about it (as it limps to the November presidential election?)

How 'bout we give an extra $20,000 to a select group of teacher-gurus deemed "masterful"? The few, the proud, the C-O-N-S-U-L-T-A-N-T-S! Soon to appear in a workshop near you!!!

Ignore the FACT that there is no established evaluation method to determine who those "masters" might be. (Even education-know-it-all Bill Gates has come to realize that it's not as easy as it seems. See article below..)

Not to be deterred (since November is on the horizon)...

...Obama and Arne the Duncan say: "Teachers, start your applications...let the race begin!"

Another competition to create a few winners and multitudes of losers. Obama knows it won't work, but it gives the appearance of having a clue, the appearance of caring, the appearance of doing something.

And, hey...it's not their money, it's OUR money!
