As an unabashed fan and ex-practitioner of the widely discredited "sage on the stage" approach to teaching, I would propose one thing in this era of education reform:

If the bottom line of teacher accountability is the scores achieved/not achieved by students on state standardized tests...

...then at least let the teachers do it their way!
