THEY CAN RUN...

First it was Michelle Rhee cancelling a scheduled debate with Diane Ravitch...

...now it's David Coleman, who is generally acknowledged as the architect of the Common Core standards.

Then again, after reading Diane's "narrative", I can see why:

From the Washington Post

Everything you need to know about Common Core — Ravitch

It's the old adage:

And...

I suppose running from a debate with Diane Ravitch is better than getting chewed up and spat out by the expert on (what ails) the Common Core State Standards.

Sadly...

Back here in Southern Illinois, "local educators" don't get it, they just keep on shilling:

From the Southern Illinoisan

New state learning standards will pay off in long run

I found it interesting that the "local educators" were a regional superintendent, a principal, and an assistant principal...people who don't actually have to use the CCSS in the classroom!

Oh, teachers did get an honorable mention: "...but I think our teachers are taking it in stride." Well, whoop-dee-doo! Like what choice do teachers have? Since 1985, teachers have become experts on the latest variation of "standards". Another appropriate adage and acronym: SSDD.

Plus, teachers also know the dangers of standing up and speaking out...

...especially since Illinois (with the assistance of the Illinois Education Association...don't get me started) has gutted tenure protections. Speak out against the CCSS and you might lose your job.

Retribution is in right...

now, especially in New Jersey.

You've Assuredly heard about "Bridge-Gate" where alleged rogues in the Governor's office created a 4-day traffic jam on the ultra-busy George Washington Bridge to punish a Democratic mayor who refused to endorse Chris Christie's re-election (even though Christie won handily.)

Another breaking story out of the Garden State, this one in the education arena:
