HI-YO, SILVER!

Maplewood Richmond Heights High School...

...one among, uh, one?

MRH may not be the 'Lone Ranger', but they sure as hell aren't among the many.

So many promised turnarounds...

...so many failures.

From eSchool News

The secrets behind one school’s remarkable turnaround

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

Even if true...

Yes, count me among the skeptics, what with so many cheating scandals and outright lies.

I will never forgive nor forget having Mesa Arizona "consultants" thrown in our face at a teachers' institute back in the day, only to read a couple of years later about their cheating scandal.

Had to chuckle at MRH's "four pillars" for success.

As a St. Louis Rams' fan, I remember well new head coach Steve Spagnuolo's "four pillars", implemented to turnaround the worst NFL club of the decade.

The oohs, the ahhs, the promise, the hope...

...until his team repeated the same old Rams' futility of his predecessors.

Next!

Then again, this is the age of 12-step programs and slogans and silver bullets...

...so "four pillars" is certainly a selling point.

And, for sure...

That is what we are about in the "education reform" business today...

SELLING!

FOOTNOTE:

Hmmm...

All that success at MRH...

...what happens now?

Does MRH get a pass on the CCSS?

Or, do they have to throw away their "four pillars" and their "proven success" and implement the "four letters"?

Double "Hmmm..."

Are the Common Core State Standards a 4-letter word?
