No, President Obama did not "invent" the Common Core State Standards...

...but, he and his main mouthpiece (Arne the Duncan) have seized it as their guiding light toward school reform and required CCSS adoption in order to get a waiver from No Child Left Behind or to receive any chance at a share of the RttT funding.
