THE LEGACY OF DENNIS VAN ROEKEL

The bridge between Reg Weaver and...

...nowhere?

From Education Week

NEA's $60 Million 'Great Public Schools' Fund Rolls Out

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

I've never been a fan of term limits.

I always figured that the definitions of democracy, rule by the people, and majority rule covered that...

...that the voters (at least the minority of the "American public" that bothers) could always toss the rascals out.

As they say, "We, the People" get what we deserve.

That said...

Dennis Van Roekel being term-limited out, well hush my mouth!

Ooh, ooh, ooh...

...back to the "$60 Million 'Great Public Schools' Fund".

I'm all atwitter that one of the winners is:

Like Arne Duncan, turning a deaf ear, preaching the party line.

Anyway...

Back in the days of Reg Weaver, when you read/heard about education news and/or a national education union, it was the National Education Association...

...not Randi Weingarten or the American Federation of Teachers.

What's that tell you about your "legacy", Dennis?
