Arne Duncan: ‘White suburban moms’ upset that Common Core shows their kids aren’t ‘brilliant’

After my use yesterday of the Vietnam era reference "Cronkite Moment", I could not help but be bemused by Arne Duncan's alleged statement that the biggest threat to Common Core is that:

"...we lose the hearts and minds of those in the middle."

What's next?

How 'bout:

"It became necessary to destroy the village in order to save it."

Lord knows that Arne Duncan (with the blessing of the President who put him there) has destroyed many a neighborhood school, both during his tenure as Superintendent of the Chicago Public Schools and now as United States Secretary of Education.

Sadly...

...as with Vietnam, don't expect the "powers that be" to blink in the face of growing opposition.

Duncan et al will simply become more defensive, more shrill, and more aggressive...
