A reminder that the earliest that this new law would take effect is July 1, 2014.

As you have read/heard, a lawsuit by labor has been promised that could delay implementation by years. In fact, the courts could rule the law unconstitutional and it would be back to the drawing boards.

Then again, since the Governor and General Assembly removed judges from pension reform, the IL Supreme Court could return the favor, "fast track" any challenge to the law, render a ruling of constitutional, and the law could take effect as scheduled on July 1st.

Oh, what a tangled web they weave...
