SIZE MATTERS

A lot!

From the Washington Post

Class size matters a lot, research shows

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

Even Barry, Arnie, and Bill should agree with the "Class Size Matters" assertion...

...since they so readily pronounce the majority of teachers as "failures"!

From sea to shining sea...

...there just aren't that many teachers who fit their test-based definition of "great".

Therefore...

...making budgetary cuts (as so many school districts are doing in these hard economic times), increasing class size, only makes their "bad situation" worse.

On a more personal note...

'Tis why it is so "penny wise and pound foolish" for Cairo School District Number One to sit on its nest of "Golden Eggs" ($4,596,500.65 according to the January CSD #1 Treasurer's Report) while the enrollment in some elementary classes approach 30 students in number.

It's difficult "Making a Significant Difference" when the classroom runneth over!
