From KFVS TV Channel 12
School leaders looking into Bible controversy
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
The Superintendent's call for an investigation is a good one:
- If the teacher spotted the Bible and snapped...or if the teacher reprimanded the student(s) for discussing religion during "free time" while other students were maybe discussing last night's ball game or what to wear to the prom...well, game over, apologize to whomever wants one and move on.
- On the other hand, if the investigation shows that the students were doing "Bible Study" when they were suppose to be doing school work, like their classmates, well, the teacher was right to say "Put it away and get to work." (In my experience, students get very creative when they get home or to the office, knowing that they are in trouble, spinning tales that God in Heaven would frown upon. Lies, lies, damnable lies!)
As for:
"A lot of times kids only hear about God in school."
On second thought...
I'd best bite my catty tongue.
