Cairo district adopts school uniform policy

...a school district with $4 million in the bank, knowing that upwards of 90% of its students qualify for (no such thing as) a free or reduced lunch, passes a policy mandating school uniforms, and then goes a-begging?

I mean, do the math:

$25 X 500 = $12,500...

...give each and every student in CSD #1 two uniforms (so they don't have to do laundry every night)...

$25,000.

If requiring students to wear khakis and polo shirts will make them "college and career ready", then provide the damn money to fund it.

Rumor has it that the school board members recently took a trip to New Orleans...

...wonder how many student uniforms that trip would have funded?
