She could have hunkered down, pulled out her handgun, and opened fire into the ceiling to get attention!

What would have happened to her kids if she had gone next door and perished in the flames?

Didn't she have a means of notifying someone large and in charge that she smelled smoke?

Couldn't she have simply pulled the fire alarm and led her children to safety?

Hmmm...

Consider the fact that she was a miscreant teacher!

She probably abandoned her innocents to go next door and sneak a smoke and flipped the cigarette into the oven when she heard a supervisor coming...
