First of all, a disclaimer (apology?)...

I don't mean to be critical of anything new in Cairo...

...with all the razing, there's certainly plenty of empty places that could use filling.

But...

...why that out-of-the-way corner?

Of course...

According to the agenda of the January meeting of the Cairo Board of Education, one of the corners at 8th and Commercial is going to inherit the flag pole currently located at the old Bennett Elementary School.

Makes one wonder for what purpose they are saving the corner of 8th and Washington.

Then again...

I'm still wondering why the "River Wall Murals" were located (hidden?) at 14th and Ohio...

...behind the semi-trailer trucks, across from the unsightly storage area...

...instead of, say, at the pictured 8th Street levy entrance to the Ohio river.

Hey, maybe directions to the murals can replace the news about "GIRLS BASKETBALL THUR - CHS":
