HUMP DAYS & FRIDAYS

What a difference a day makes...

...it's all a matter of perspective.

Take Wednesdays for active school teachers...

...no day at the beach, but it sure beats the hell out of Mondays!

But, then, there's the retired school teacher...

...case in point:

Oh, I'm sorry, am I standing in the way of the view...

There are those who would say that was mean...

...well, excuuuuuse me!

Bad CAT!

Before you get all mad and everything...

...consider the active teacher's revenge:

Fridays.

Talk about perspective!

Active teachers greet Fridays with a little extra bounce in their steps, anticipating a weekend of fun (even if it's just the blessed absence of school.)

As for the retired school teacher...

What?

You say it's Friday?

I'm sorry, I thought it was Saturday, just another Saturday.

I do miss that feeling of "It's FRIDAY!" I mean, Friday is so universally acknowledged as good, they went and named a chain of restaurants after it.

So, what's not to like...

...at least after the final bell!

Being retired, well, it's just not the same.

But, but I'll muddle through...

...especially when I reflect on Sunday afternoon, that sick-to-the-stomach feeling that used to arrive just like clockwork, growing as the evening fell...

...in anticipation of Monday, Monday.

With apologies to the Mamas and the Papas, seldom good to me.

As they rightly sang: "Can't trust that day".

Case in point:

Next Monday...

...even though you will have been blessed this weekend with an extra hour of sleep (ooh, ooh, ooh, an extra hour to do your lesson plans and grade papers!)...

...you owe, you owe, so it's off to work you go!

In the land of the retired teacher...

...forget the calendar!

It's Saturday, parked here in the CAT cave, might as well be the 4th of July!

Ya know, I guess it's true, I do have a mean streak.

After you teach for 39 years, come talk to me about it!

Yes...

...if there were ever any doubts, it's better being a retired teacher than an active one.

Don't believe me, just ask me...

Still want to quibble?

One final question:
