GOVERNOR: THE DEVIL YOU KNOW |
The Southern Illinoisan endorses Pat Quinn...
From the Southern Illinoisan
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
Bless me, father, for I have sinned...
...I voted for the devil, the devil I swore that I would never, ever vote for again.
In my defense...
...I didn't really lie, since I really, really, REALLY meant what I said at the time.
I know, I know...
...trying to rationalize my trespasses. Forgive me for that too.
I mean...
Who knew?
...that there was a bigger and badder devil "out there"?
Okay, okay, you're right, of course. I shoulda known...
...I mean there was Mitt Romney on the national stage, but, to my credit, I>there, I kept my word about never, ever voting for Obama again.
I stayed home on election day and exercised my right not to vote.
This time?
Well...
...this election is too close to home.
A Rauner win has the potential to be too personally devastating. I cannot in good conscience run the risk of not casting a vote in what is being labeled as a "too close to call" election for the Governor of Illinois. To awaken after the General Election to the news that Bruce Rauner had won by one vote, talk about needing to be forgiven...
...needing to have my butt kicked!
So...
...I took advantage of the previously posted opportunity to acquire and file an absentee ballot.
My vote for Pat Quinn is signed, sealed, and delivered.
Bear repeating:
Bless me, father, for I have sinned...
...and I hope others of like mind do too!
Our Father, Who art in Heaven...
