RAUNER'S ANTI-UNION CAMPAIGN |
From the Southern Illinoisan
Rauner tries novel approach in anti-union battle
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
May the force of solidarity be with you, union workers!
As for Rauner's comment:
Yeah, right...
...what about your special interest group, Bruce?
You know, the poor, pitiful, powerless 1%!
You champion the "bigger piggies" while the "little piggies" (union and non-union) grovel in the dirt over stagnant wages or lose their jobs as your big business buddies shed U.S. workers for cheap, sweat-shop labor abroad.
And, in typical hypocritical fashion, you do your "campaigning" at taxpayer expense!
You go around the state attacking unions and trying to eliminate "fair share", claiming that it forces I-don't-wanna-be-in-the-union, wannabe freeloaders, to give dues money for causes in which they don't believe.
Well, what about all those union workers who have to pay taxes for the privilege of watching and listening to you trying to destroy their livelihood?
How "fair" is that?!
"The special interests have got to be stopped," Rauner told local officials during a speech in rural Livingston County, one of dozens of stops on a campaign-like tour that has stretched for weeks. "That's the key to turning our state around."
