Obituary: Michael Moore

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

I had the pleasure of teaching with Mike when he was a frequent and long-term substitute at Cairo Junior/Senior High School.

Then, when I retired in 2008, Mike took my place as the Alternative Classroom teacher, continuing to serve in that capacity until 2011.

Mike served as the CHS scholar bowl coach during the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years.

Mike was also a frequent responder to my CAT Tracks posts...

...letting me know that I wasn't just "talking to myself".

Away from school, Mike was heavily involved in Democratic politics, probably another reason we saw eye-to-eye on most subjects, educational and otherwise.

The same person who provided me with notice of his passing also included a candid camera's view of Mike in his element, obviously enjoying his chosen profession:

Rest in peace, Mike...
