Just goes to show that no one, absolutely no one, is immune to a school administration run amok.
You may think you are the best teacher in the world...
...hell, the rest of the world may think/testify that you are the greatest teacher in the world...
...but all it takes is one accusation and your career may be in jeopardy.
During my tenure in Cairo School District Number One (back in the day when tenure actually meant something), I bore witness to many such incidents...
...that took District-mandated, insulting trips to doctors and psychiatrists to gain "clearance"...
...along with thousands, hundreds of thousands of dollars of legal bills to gain reinstatement.
This is why you'd best not grumble about paying union dues!
Like house insurance, car insurance, health insurance...
...union dues are your J-O-B insurance, your employment that provides the paycheck that pays for everything else!
When Cairo teachers have been forced to fight legal battles, they did not have to dig into their pockets and hire lawyers, said services being provided by the highly talented IEA legal staff.
Such is the life of a teacher...
...guilty until proven innocent!
