RAVITCH: NEA SIZZLE & FIZZLE |
The delegates to the National Education Association's Representative Assembly have finally gotten tired of the leadership of the organization dancing cheek to cheek with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
As reported by Diane Ravitch...

Breaking News: NEA Delegates Pass Resolution Calling for Arne Duncan’s Resignation
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
Gotta luv vindication!
On June 14th, I reported NEA President Dennis Van Roekel's angry outburst at the dastardly deeds of "education reformers" in general. (In my catty commentary, I expressed doubt of his veracity.)
Then, three days later, Dennis pointed fingers and called names, conveniently omitting the 'Big Three' of Obama, Duncan, and Gates (causing my catty rhetoric to soar!)
So...
Imagine my satisfaction when last night I visited Diane Ravitch's Blog.
What Dennis Van Roekel Said in Denver
CAT Tracks Editor's Note Supplemental:
Look, I'll admit it, I did not read what Dennis had to say, figuring (correctly as it turned out) that it would be more of his "I'm your puppet" song and dance.
But, I did scroll through Diane's post to see if she had anything to say about the speech...
...and arrived at the last three paragraphs!
Well, hell, the Rolling Stones were wrong...
...I'm basking in satisfaction!
Thank you, Diane, for calling Dennis out!!
Good riddance, Dennis...
...may your successor get up, stand up for our rights!!!
