It was "Amended" to include the following:

  c. Ralph McElearney - Cairo Jr/Sr High School Special Education - due to retirement at the end of the 2014/2015 school year. )Accepted.)

Okay, here's the "minutes":

1. All BOE members were present.

2. Examples of Excellence - Enrollment...227 for K-5...321 with Pre-K. Enrollment...195 for CJSHS. Pre-K Program was awarded the Golden Seal of Excellence by ISBE. The new student uniform policy is going well. BOE Member Rodney Moore expressed his belief that the policy should be amended to allow solid black pants.

3. Public/Private Hearings Etc. - None

4. Approval of Consent Agenda - Done

5. Report of the Superintendent:

• Smooth first week of school.

• Budget from state...still waiting on some numbers.

• Recieved grant for doors at CJSHS.

6. Informational - Change Regular September Board Meeting Date from September 18th to Monday, September 22nd at 6 p.m. Preceding that meeting at 5:45 p.m. will be a Public Hearing to adopt the budget for FY15.

8. The BOE voted to enter closed session at 6:24 p.m. The BOE voted to exit closed session at 8:53 p.m.

9. Hirings:

a. The two Elementary Reading Aides were Tysie Howard and Brittany Matthews.

b. The athletic hirings were:

• Laresha Reed - Assistant Junior High Softball Coach

• Justin Ice - Assistant Junior High Baseball Coach
