DISCONNECTED

...from reality!

From eSchool News

How important is informal learning?

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

Ask any "education reformer" and they will tell you that "informal learning"...

...or anything else "outside the classroom" (like family, poverty, etc) doesn't mean sh*t, pardon my French!

Nooo...

It's all about the "bad teachers" and their depraved unions - protecting seniority and tenure rights...

...instead of advocating for the sweet, innocent, deprived children.

And another damn thing:

There is the reality of rural areas like Cairo, Illinois...

...where students don't get to congregate at the local Starbucks before and/or after school, using the free WiFi hotspot to access the outside world (even if CSD were to provide all students with laptops and/or tablets...

...in addition to snazzy uniforms.

So far, the free tablets are only for the BOE members and administration.

Hey!

Kinda reminiscent of Marie Antoinette....

...but, instead of Let them eat cake:

"Let them wear khaki!"

Okay, MEOW!

Excuse my bad mood...

...can't help it as I "look forward" to tonight's Special Meeting of the Cairo Board of Education.

Sigh...
