The agendas are below...

...followed by the "minutes".

1. Call to order at 6 p.m. All members present.

4. Consent agenda approved.

5 & 6. Report of Superintendent/Informational:

  • Para process will begin November 1st and will need to be in place next year, 2015-2016, a year earlier than expected because we are such a low achieving dist.

  • Three seats are up for BOE. Papers must be filed with the Alexander County Clerk.

9. Some closing remarks:

  • Next BOE Meeting is on October 16th. The November Meeting will be rescheduled from Thursday the 20th to Monday the 17th.

  • Uniforms are to be worn on picture day.

  • No Write-UP Challenge for both buildings - Students with no write-ups for the whole month of October will have a pizza party and dress-down day reward.

OOPS! Just received an e-mail from Madam CAT President...the "no write-up challenge" is for the entire damn building, not for individual students.

    Well...

    I don't mean to be catty :-)

...but, unless students have made a remarkable turnabout since Elvis the CAT left the building, then the (empty) promise of pizza and a dress-down day is a safe bet. Back in the day, I doubt we ever made it through a DAY without a write-up, much less a MONTH!

BTW...I just received an e-mail from another former colleague who opined: "A dress down day for good behavior. Surely we could find something else. Makes it seem like uniforms are a punishment." MEOW!

Ooh, ooh, ooh, yet another: "Before you know it every Friday will be a no uniform day."

Hey, keep those catty comments coming...

    ...I'm lovin' it!

10. Adjourn - 9:43 p.m.
