And this was Vienna...

...nobody ever talks about Vienna.

But, Cairo?

Well, everybody and their dog enjoys publishing negative stories about Cairo, so Channel 3 will have lots of company.

BTW: Good luck monitoring the 1-to-1 iPad initiative with a regular-sized classroom.

I struggled mightily with less than a dozen students in Alternative Classroom, with all the desktop computer screens facing me. With the help of the District's firewall, I never saw any porn on a student's computer, but they still managed to get to music sites and other sites not approved for their educational program.

I guess there was a bright side.

The 1:1 education program of Alternative Classroom forced this old former sage on the stage into being a guide on the side.

I spent every minute of every day pacing and monitoring whatever the hell they were trying to do while they were supposed to be "engaged" with their programmed learning.

There was certainly no time to lecture...

...except for the stern "lecture" about the consequences of their efforts to circumvent the system.

I only found porn once, one image, and it was on my damn computer.

When I entered the classroom at 7:15 a.m., long before the arrival of my students...

Whoomp, there it was!

The offending image wasn't there at the end of the day when I left...

...so, obviously, someone used my computer during the evening hours.

But...

...try telling that to the Principal, the Superintendent, the School Board, the police, or the judge.

So, again:
