THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING

Uh, well, John actually is "King" by birth.

John King.

Reminds this old world history teacher of King John...

...the "Bad King John" who inspired the Robin Hood legend.

If the present day John King's rule over New York education reform is any indication, he shares more than a name with King John.

Anyway, as they say: "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"...

John King Talks ESSA, Priorities for 2016, and Being an 'Acting' Education Secretary

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

I actually debated with myself over the posting of this article...

...or any other article related to the passing of the torch at the United States Department of Education.

I mean, what's the point? As I indicated in my intro, the names may change, but the game's the same.

However, it is worth noting that the man who acted like a king from 2009 through 2015 is gone. Good riddance!

It is my intention that this be the last article on the new "Acting" King of DOE...

...and for sure, there will be no further mention of my latest addition to the list of "He Who Shall Remain Nameless".

Although...

I would not be surprised to hear President Obama name HWSRN as national "Gun Czar" or some such title.

In his farewell address, HWSRN focused on gun control...

...and then this week (coincidentally?), President Obama announces his intent to take executive action to strengthen control on guns because Congress won't pass legislation.

Well...

...if there is anyone "highly qualified" in circumventing the law, it's HWSRN!

Plus, Obama is loyal to a fault, especially with regards to his basketball-playing buddy. So, in an attempt to save face for his displaced, disgraced former Secretary of Education:

Gun Czar!

If he does, you will not read about it on CAT Tracks.

I'm done with the sorry lot!
