Brookport in danger of disappearing, city councilman reveals

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

The writing on the wall?

The levee wall?

What with the ACHA/HUD scandal...

...talk of closing the McBride and Elmwood projects, relocating the residents to other communities...

...and now, the closing of Cairo's only grocery store...

...it begs the question:

After Brookport, next?

There would certainly be wild celebrations in Southeast Missouri!

Cairo's only hope, its ace up the sleeve, is the FACT that so many people (including those in high places) across both rivers and to our immediate north don't want Cairo's people to migrate to their communities, to darken their doorsteps.

It's sad, so sad, it's a sad, sad situation...

...made even more sad, because it's the truth.
