Illinois to implement new ratings for schools, districts
CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
Just another way to brand Illinois public schools and teachers as "failing".
If anyone wanted a sneak preview of the rating list, all they'd have to do is ask the Illinois State Board of Education for a list that ranks schools/districts according to "free and reduced lunch" percentages.
With very few exceptions, there you go!
Bears repeating...
"It's the poverty, stupid!"
...not that anyone in any position of power will listen.
It's a helluva lot easier to scapegoat teachers than to raise and spend money to solve the actual problem.
