Farewell, NCLB, We Won’t Miss You

Well, hell, lest we forget, it was George W. Bush and the Republicans who invented NCLB because they wanted federal control over the state and local public education systems (when they were large and in charge.)

The Republicans don't like NCLB now because Obama took it and ran with it...

...and we all know how much Republicans hate anything and everything embraced by Obama.

And, in a painful reminder...

...the remainder of that sentence:

"...while the Democrats ironically defended Bush’s accountability emphasis."

A sign of our sorry times...

...that public education and its practitioners have no friends in high places.

So don't get your hopes up about the new legislation...

...because, as always, the devil is in the details.
