CAT Tracks Editor's Note:
Former guidance counselor at Cairo Junior/Senior High School beginning with the 2001-2002 school year, through the 2005-2006 school year.
Curtis/Lonnie brought humor to our daily before-school gatherings in the teachers' lounge...
...helping to raise the morale of faculty and staff during some trying times in addition to his day job of counseling students.
A "speed walker" by nature, he kept his brain stimulated with the daily word-jumble puzzle in the newspaper, getting the rest of us hooked too.
As part of our CHS "family", he kept in touch after leaving and even came back to visit occasionally.
Curtis was definitely one of the "good guys".
Rest in peace, my friend.
