...as two desktops, a laptop, a tablet, a Nook device, and an iPhone would certainly confirm.

But...

...digital disruption in the classroom?

Argh!!!

And...

...this week's CSD MANDATORY CJSHS parent meeting did nothing to dissuade me of my from-the-cheap-seats (from the pasture?) opinion.

When the shiny learning carrot morphs into a big disciplinary stick, there is something rotten in digital wonderland.

I'm sorry...

...digital devices are addictive and there is no way in hell that a teacher can monitor a roomful of students intent upon their own individual pursuit of happiness. (Without getting personal, think of herding cats!)

So, my old sage-on-the-stage method may be dead...

...but so is the trumpeted "guide on the side".

Education in the full-bore digital age will no longer need teachers...

...which is surely the not-so-hidden agenda of the education "reformers".

All that will be needed (until some enterprising entrepreneur can invent the Math pill, the Language Arts pill, the Social Studies pill, etc.) is minimum-wage monitors to pace the classroom keeping students from straying from their assigned 1:1 tasks.
