...followed by some brief comments:

"Minutes":
All BOE members were present for this meeting. (Vernon Stubblefield left at 9 p.m. during closed session.)
There were three different presentations during "Examples of Excellent", but the main event was by several 3rd Grade students and their teacher, Melissa Hawkins. They demonstrated their use of iPads in the classroom, involving a quiz game called Kahoot.
No members of the public or employees asked to address the BOE.
Once again, the "Consent Agenda" was approved without question or discussion.
As for the "Report of the Superintendent"...
...another reading of dates of upcoming events from a handout in the BOE packet. The only ones I caught were the CHS graduation on May 21st at 10 a.m., the 8th Grade graduation on May 22nd (7 p.m.???), Teachers' Institute on May 25th, and students picking up report cards on May 26th.
The BOE voted to enter Closed Session at 6:35 p.m. The BOE voted to exit Closed Session at 9:45 p.m.
The BOE voted to accept the resignation of Jonell Nally (the person hired for this school year to train for the position held by Lisa Watkins, who is retiring at the end of the year. Oops!)
There were no hirings.
The BOE approved the FY17 School Calendar (2016-2017...See below.)
The BOE approved the Modified Elementary School Principal job description. (There are 10 applicants for the position.)
The BOE voted to adjourn at 9:55 p.m.
