"Minutes:

1. All BOE members were present to begin the meeting.

2. Examples of Excellence - Some 5th Grade students were present and showed off their science experiments. Also displayed along the wall were social studies projects from CJSHS Teacher Anita Clark's class. One of her students was present and commented on her final class project as representative of the group.

3. The BOE room was standing room only for the "Public/Private Hearings or Petitions" section. The vast majority of those present were members and sponsors of the Sophomore Class. The President of the class spoke for the group, expressing concerns on how things were being run. During the presentations, BOE Member Vernon Stubblefield interrupted and stated that he would like to know particulars that would involve the identification of personnel which was not allow in open session. Therefore, the students and their sponsors were asked to wait for closed session to continue their grievances. [They were later given an hour in closed session, followed, in turn, by Keeshia Carr (50 minutes) and James Gibson (30 minutes)].

4. The Consent Agenda was approved as a group with no questions or discussion.

5 & 6. Once again, Superintendent Andrea Evers read from a sheet that was included in the BOE packets. I did not try to keep up.

7. As is.

8. The BOE voted to enter Closed Session at 6:43 p.m. The BOE voted to exit Closed Session at 11:00 p.m. (Vernon Stubblefield left at 9:16 p.m. Arnold Burris left at 10:39 p.m.)

9. Requiring Action/Decisions By Board of Education - With one exception, the BOE voted to approved all listed items, including the addition. The exception was that the BOE decided to table "(2) Hiring(s)".

10. There was no Old Business.

11. The BOE voted to adjourn at 11:08 p.m.
