REGULAR BOE MEETING & PUBLIC HEARING...'MINUTES' |
The Cairo Board of Education held its rescheduled regular meeting on Thursday, June 23rd, at 6 p.m.
Prior to that meeting, the BOE conducted a Public Hearing on the Amended Budget (2015-2016) for Cairo School District Number One.

"Minutes"
1. The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. with Gabriel Harris presiding in the absence of BOE President Artie McBride (who arrived sometime during closed session.) All other members of the BOE were present with the exception of Arnold Burris (who according to today's Cairo Citizen has been named the City of Cairo's Acting Chief of Police.)
2. No Example of Excellence. Instead there was some discussion among BOE members that I could not hear/follow.
3. No employees or members of the public asked to address the BOE.
4. Once again, the Consent Agenda was approved as a group.
5. Also, once again, Superintendent Andrea Evers read various activities and dates contained in the BOE packet.
6. The final enrollment for Cairo School District Number One was 485. The peak enrollment for the year was 545.
7. Other: Nothing new.
8. The BOE voted to enter Closed Session at 6:25 p.m. The BOE voted to exit Closed Session at 7:40 p.m.

(4) Approved Cairo Elementary School Improvement Plan
(5) Approved Cairo Jr/Sr High School Improvement Plan
(6) Approved adding Keeshia Carr as a signatory on the District Revolving Account
10. Old Business - There will be a Special Meeting on Monday, June 27th at 7 p.m., a continuation of developing "Superintendent Goals" for 2016-2017.
11. The BOE voted to adjourn at 7:48 p.m.
