Illinois schools superintendent warns districts about tests

CAT Tracks Editor's Note:

Also from Tony Smith:

"We will never use test scores in isolation to drive school interventions or personnel decisions. We all understand that no test can ever fully capture the inspiring skills and abilities of a great teacher or the extraordinary benefits and positive impact of a great school."

Gee, Tony, that would be reassuring...

...if it weren't for the fact that Illinois and other states have been doing just THAT for years...

...at the urging of fellow Illinoisan Arne Duncan (U.S. Secretary of Education)...

...with the approval and praise of his boss, fellow Illnoisan Barack Obama (POTUS).

Despite Superintendent Smith's token urging...

...expect politicians and the media to shame teachers and schools.

Abysmal results are exactly what the "reformers" expected and wanted to fuel their efforts to privatize public education.
